Catalan productions have positioned themselves honourably at the first two post-summer events on the Class A festival calendar. At the Venice Film Festival, Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza's REC 2 (Castelao Productions) and Mudanza / Removal by Pere Portabella (Films 59) will be presented as special events outside of competition. The terror film will be kicking off the Midnight Screenings, whilst Portabella, who will be presiding over the jury of the Orizzonti Section, will be screening a short film that depicts a team of professional movers as they completely empty out the Federico García Lorca Museum House, in Granada.Just a few days later, the Basque city of San Sebastian will be opening its festival, which this year will be held from 18 to 26 September. The festival has already confirmed the participation in the official section of Isaki Lacuesta's feature film Los condenados / The Damned, produced by Benecé Produccions. Thus far, the other titles revealed by the festival include Màscares / Masks, directed by Elisabet Cabeza and Esteve Riambau (Oberon Cinematogràfica), and Norteado / Northless, directed by Rigoberto Perezcano (Mediapro, Tiburón Filmes, Foprocine, Imcine, McCormick de México and IDN), which will be taking part of the Zabaltegi-New Directors Section; whilst the line-up for the Made in Spain Section will be featuring Familystrip, directed by Lluís Miñarro (Eddie Saeta); 25 kilates / 25 Carat, directed by Patxi Amézcua (Ovideo TV); Les dues vides d'Andrés Rabadán / The Two Lives of Andrés Rabadán, directed by Ventura Durall (Nanouk Films); Una cierta verdad / A Certain Truth, directed by Abel Roure (Evohé Films, Notro Films and Televisió de Catalunya); Ich bin Enric Marco, directed by Santiago Fillol and Lucas Vermal (Intermedio and Corte y Confección de Películas); and Tres días con la familia / Three Days with the Family, directed by Mar Coll (Escándalo Films).Coproduction projectsAnother event, the Fifth "Lau Haizetara" Coproduction Forum, will also be held within the framework of the San Sebastian Film Festival. This initiative aims to promote coproduction among the European regions. Included among the forum's 14 selected projects are two Catalan productions: Sabaté by Nanouk Films and La próxima piel / The Next Skin, by Sagrera Producción Audiovisual.
