A woman and two men undertake an absurd escape to a remote island, towards utopia: Rarotonga be its name. The promise of a better life.
Rarotonga is the third short film in the Trilogy of Mistake. A project that started with Rumbo a peor (Worstward Ho), continued with Rifirrafe (Scuffle) and was interrupted due to a series of fatalities, basically the incomprehensible death of the actor Alfonso Bayard.
The idea of a society that expels sensitive people, of certain nearly invisible axes that oppress those who don’t want to submit to the rules, is what lies behind this story, as baffling as it is uncomplete in its narrative form. It is with humour and tenderness that we have tried to relate this little odyssey.
