Catalan cinema at Cinespaña


Catalan cinema will have a prominent role at Cinespaña. Festival du Film Espagnol de Toulouse, which will be held between 27th September and 6th October at Toulusse. A total amount of 18 Catalan productions will be showed at the festival and 9 of these will compete in the official section. 

In length film section will compete The Plague/ La Plaga by Neus Ballús (El Kinògraf), Frontera by Manuel Pérez Cáceres (Cornelius Films), Son of Caín/ Fill de Caín by Jesús Monllaó Plana (Life & Pictures, Fosca Films, Televisió de Catalunya, Saldo de Eje PC) and The Body/El cuerpo by Oriol Paulo (Rodar y Rodar, Televisió de Catalunya, Antena 3 Films). These works aim for Violette d’Or du Meilleur Film. 

For documentary section it has been selected one Catalan production Your lost Memories by Alejandro Marzoa Blasco, Miguel Ángel Blanca Pachon (Bogaloo Films). In short films will compete The other one/ El otro by Jorge Dorado (Roxbury Pictures) and Rifirrafe by Alex Brendemhül (Voodoo Productions).

Premiere Film will include La fotògrafa by Fernando Baños (Films 59, Benece, TC) and Otel·lo by Hammudi A-Rahmoun Font (Corte y Confección de películas, Escándalo Films). 

Out of competition, Panorama section wants to publicize recent Spanish production. Four of these are Catalan:   El Bosc by Oscar Aibar (Fausto Producciones, TVC) , Fènix 11.23 by Joel Joan and Sergi Lara (Arriska, Benece, TVC),  Món petit by Marcel Barrena (Umbilical Produccions, Corte y Confección de Películas, TVC, TVE) and Mi papá es director de cine byGermán Roda (Estacion cinema).

The festival will offer a focus of  Filmoteca de Catalunya and a Rencontre avec José Coronado where it will be showed No habrá paz para los malvados by Enrique Urbizu (Arcadia Motion Pictures, Lazonafilms,Telecinco cinema).
