The film No todo es vigilía by Hermes Paralluelo (El Dedo en el Ojo) will compete in the Ibero-American Documentary Feature category. Meanwhile two short films, 600$ by Oriol Cardús, and Mi primer beso by Albert Manich, (both produced by Escandalo Films), will battle for the best Ibero-American Short Film prize.
As well as these three productions, there are also two Catalan features competing this year for the Mezcal Award to best Mexican Film: the co-productions El Ruiseñor y la noche. Chavela Vargas canta a Lorca by Rubén Rojo (Majoproduction, Monkey Head Films) and SHIH by Bruno Zaffora and Rafael Ortega (Waking Films, Synaesthesia Multimedia).
Roberto Castón’s Los tontos y los estúpidos (Ilusión Óptica) will be shown in the non-competitive section Europa Nuevas Tendencias, which showcases the most innovative productions from the latest edition of the San Sebastian International Film Festival.
Finally, the Galas selection will be including Messi by Alex de la Iglésia (Mediapro). For its part, Son de Cine section will be screening the film ¡Cuchíbiri, cuchíbiri! by Carles Prats (Rollout Producciones) and I need a Dodge! Joe Stummer on the run by Nick Hale.
