The major animation international event MIFA, Marché International du Film d'Animation., the industry side of the Annecy Festival, will held in hybrid form from June 15 to 18. A delegation with over 10 Catalan companies will be attending the market. Catalan Films supports the Catalan industry with a stand in the film market area and also with an own virtual booth to promote animated content and companies.
Production companies, distributors and festivals form part of the Catalan delegation: Animac, Areavisual, Bliss, Bol Prod, Goldbee, Imagic, Inicia Films, Motion Pictures, Nuts Ideas, Planeta Junior, PROA, Scared Ghost, Wakefield, WKND i Juan Carlos Concha.
What's more, Catalan project Ibis will be pitched at Partners Pitchings-Best of the CEE Animation Forum 2021 Pitch that presents a selection of winning animated projects in development in different formats: short, TV series, feature length and student projects. Also, Maria Burgués, co-director and producer of the film, will participate as a speaker at the Demo sessions: Next Lab: Disruptive Technologies in the Animation Industry. Next Lab is an initiative that connects art and technology in the industry of animation and digital content. We work to improve the audiovisual sector through new disruptive technologies.
Finally, the short film directed by illustrator and filmmaker Pere Gimard, El pare ha marxat/Dad is Gone (Pere Ginard, Wakefield) will be competing the official selection of the festival. A silent collage film selected at several international film festivals such as 4º Festival Ecrâ (Brasil), Guanajuato Experimental Film Fest and Kinoskop.
