synopsis

Étienne is a sick old man who lives surrounded by all kinds of objects that he has accumulated over the time. These are memories of a tragic past which he refuses to forget. However, his daily loneliness is attacked by Jeanne, the apartment’s owner, who along with neighbors and social services want to throw him out. Nevertheless, Étienne has no intention of leaving his apartment, as he is convinced of living with the presences of his dead wife and daughter. A domestic accident leaves Étienne badly injured in his home. With its latest breath he will try to call for help, but he will only discover the lack of humanity of those who are around him.
